How to Install Windows ?
What is the system specifications and requirements for installation ?
There are four things you need.
- A computer or laptop
- A USB drive (at least 8GB)
- Another PC to create the installation USB
- Windows ISO file or Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool
Let's start our first step
Step 1: Download Windows
Option one — Windows 11/10 Media Creation Tool
- Go to Microsoft’s official website
- Download Media Creation Tool
- Open it → click Create installation media (USB)
- Select your language, edition, and architecture
- Choose USB flash drive and let it create the bootable USB
Option two — If you already have an ISO file
Use tools like Rufus to make it bootable.
Step 2: Insert the Bootable USB
- Plug the USB into the computer where you want to install Windows
- Restart the computer
Step 3: Enter Boot Menu / BIOS
When the PC restarts, press the key to enter boot menu.
Boot Key for different computers
HP F9
Dell F12
Lenovo F12
Acer F12
Asus F8 / Esc
MSI F11
Choose USB Drive to boot from.
Step 4: Start Windows Setup
You will see the Windows logo.
- Choose Language
- Choose Time and currency format
- Choose Keyboard layout
- Click Next
- Click Install Now
Step 5: Enter Product Key
- If you have one → type it
- If not → click I don’t have a product key (you can activate later)
Step 6: Choose Installation Type
Select:
→ Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)
This is for fresh installation.
Step 7: Partition the Hard Drive
You will see your drives.
To install fresh:
- Delete old partitions (optional, but make sure you know what you’re deleting)
- Select the unallocated space
- Click Next
Windows will create partitions automatically
Step 8: Installation Begins
Windows will now:
- Copy files
- Install features
- Restart the computer
Just wait (5–20 minutes).
Step 9: First-Time Setup
- After restart, you’ll see setup screens:
- Select region
- Select keyboard
- Connect to Wi-Fi
- Sign in with Microsoft account (or create a local account)
- Set a password
- Choose privacy settings
Step 10: Windows Desktop Appears 🎉
You are done!
Now install:
Drivers
Windows Updates
Apps
